ALBATROSS is a 33 foot Blackfin Express Sportsfisherman

She was totally refitted from the ground up in 2006 including all new tackle, electronics and safety equipment. ALBATROSS is powered by 2x 280HP Ford Sabres that were totally rebuilt in 2006. She has two sets of redundant electronics in both the tower and the bridge. Electronics include Raymarine ship to shore radios, depth sounders and GPS units, all new in 2006. Our tackle ranges from 6 lb to 130 lb test. The 30's, 50's, 80's and 130's are all Shimanho Tiagras, for lighter lines we use 2 speed Shimanho TLDs,

We fish by IGFA standards and practice 'Tag & Release', providing the fish is not a potential record. We do NOT target shark.

Our season usually runs from early August until late March or possibly May depending on wind/sea conditions.

During this period we see several varieties of pelagic species including all 3 marlin species, blue, black and striped.

These species are abundant between mid-November to mid-March although they appear in smaller numbers throughout the season.

Indo Pacific Sailfish also appear in large numbers off the coast. Malindi is one of the World's premier Sailfish spots. We also target broadbill swordfish, yellowfin tuna, wahoo, dolphin (mahi mahi) and giant trevally as well as other species.
